How to start with Hostgator for ONE cent

Your first investment to Hostgator can be only ONE cent for your first month!

The best thing is that Hostgator doesn’t require any kind of contract and it also doesn’t require you to pay certain quantity of months in advance. I’ve made a lot of researching about web hosting companies and while you can get your hosting for about $7 a month, you’ll need to pay for a year or two in advance. Other hosting companies that do offer a month-to-month service may charge you with something called a ’set up fee’ and it will cost you, on the average, additional $30.

None of these other web hosting companies offer as much bandwidth as Hostgator or they are missing things that they’ll end up charging some extra money for things that come standard with Hostgator.

If you follow these exact steps I’ll give in a minute, your first payment to Hostgator will be for only ONE cent and your hosting account will be live. Every month after, you will be billed $9,95 within Hostgator’s secure billing area.

After your account become active, Hostgator will send you an email with all your account info. Within that info will be 2 name-server addresses that are unique to your hosting account. They’ll look like:

NS###.HOSTGATOR.COM

NS###.HOSTGATOR.COM

The ### part will be unique numbers that are sequential (i.e. 111 and 112). From that point on, if you buy another domain name for your new site, regardless of where you buy your domain name, you just point those DNS (Domain Name Server) addresses to the new domain name that belong to you.

What if you DON’T already have a domain name?

When you sign up for a new Hostgator account, you can choose between two options:

1) to use an existing domain name you already own or

2) to buy a new domain name from Hostgator.

NOTE: Hostgator will charge you additional $15 for your new domain name, so be sure to get your domain name first somewhere else for $10 or less. I usually go to Namecheap and buy my new .com domain names.

After you do that, come back to Hostgator and sign up with “using an existing domain name”. Follow the exact instructions below to get your first month for one cent. After your Hostgator account is live, THEN go back to your registrar company where you bought your domain name and point the DNS to your Hostgator webhosting account.

How To Get Hostgator for ONE CENT

Follow these instructions carefully! It could be a little bit scary if it’s your first time doing this, but don’t worry, we’ve been all through that!

Throughout the entire process of signing up for Hostgator web hosting account , you will NOT be asked to pay for anything. This process is just to set up your account.

Instructions:

1. Go to Hostgator (opens in a new window)

2. Click on the “VIEW WEB HOSTING PLANS” yellow button

3. On the next page, in the middle column of the three plans, you will see the “Baby Plan” package already set for ‘Starting at $7.95/mo’ (you can get it for $7.95 a month if you pay for all 3 years in advance). Change it to ‘Monthly – $9.95/mo’ for future month-to-month payments at $9.95 after your first one cent payment).

4. Click the “ORDER NOW’ yellow button after you set up a new ‘Monthly – $9.95/mo’ payment.

5. Now you are on the STEP 1 page – Choose “I Currently Have a Domain Name” on the right side.

6. Enter your new domain name in the Existing Domain box (without ‘www’ – i.e. yourwebsitename.com)

7. In the Coupon Code box enter the word:            getyourgator

With this coupon code your first month of a $9.95/month ‘Baby’ Hostgator web hosting account will be billed to you for just ONE cent!

8. Click ‘Continue to Step 2’ button

9. Now you are on the STEP 2 page – Billing Information. If you done well all previous steps in the Billing Cycle box will appear:

’1 Month @ 0.01($9.95 off first payment)’. Fill out all the blanks. You won’t be paying anything in this process. Your account will be set up, and shortly after completing your order, you will receive an email telling you where to go to pay your penny.

Right now you can start creating your first niche site that will end up being YOUR powerful niche site over time for a grand total investment of $0.01!
