About Alek and his blog
Hey,
Thanks for stopping by my page!
My name is Alek Stanojevic. I’m 40 years old and I live in Belgrade, Serbia.
I don’t know how you found me or got to this page, but I really believe that there are no coincidences in life.
If you got to this page you’re probably like me – an ordinary person with extraordinary dreams, who realized that working as an employee couldn’t give you the dream life of having both, time and money.
I wanted to get more out of life, but just couldn’t find the right vehicle or system to pay me what I was truly worth.
I know we are all taught to get a degree and that will land us a great paying job. Here I was, following this road we’re all taught – go to school and get a “good job”.
After 11 years spent in construction business working as an architect, at the age of 38 (better ever than never), I realized that there was no such thing as a “good job” (one that would pay me what I was truly worth).
What I also realized was that the majority of people who followed this path retire broke. It seemed, everyone I knew fell into two categories:
- They had lots of time, but no money (99%), or
- They had a lots of money, but no time (1%).
My “ah-ha” moment came when I read the book “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki. I realized, I needed to have something I could control and call my own and most importantly provide for my family in the event something happened to me.
It’s been almost a year and a half that I start thinking about creating a web site and get involved in internet marketing to try earning some additional money and, perhaps to change my life for the better.
During that time I have been reading many e-books, reports and guides, watched hundreds of webinars and videos, listened to great amount of interviews with experienced web site owners, bloggers and internet marketers.
After several months, I realized that the best way for doing that is to have my own web site. I also realized that if you want to set your internet business properly you need to invest some hard work and some time.
That way I could have everything under my control.
That sounded really good to me and I was ready to start. With all the information on the internet I thought it would be easy to accomplish that.
I was AWFULLY wrong!
It was completely impossible to find an ABSOLUTE BEGINNER’s guide with all necessary steps explained for an ABSOLUTE BEGINNER to create a FIRST BLOG in one place.
Just to mention that by saying ABSOLUTE BEGINNER, I really mean that – someone who DOESN’T know what the following are:
- what is a blog
- a difference between a web site and a blog
- a domain name
- a web hosting
- an autoresponder
- how autoresponder works
- domain name servers
- a difference between wordpress, joomla, drupal…
- URL
- HTML
- FTP client
- HTTP
- RSS
- feed
- feed reader, etc.
At that time I had only two options: to give up and continue with my ‘lovely’ job or to continue further.
Just like Sir Richard Branson gave a title to one of his book, I sad to myself…
SCREW IT, LET’S DO IT!
Again, I started reading e-books, watching webinars and videos, listening to the interviews… but, this time I started to write my own notes about everything I read, listened to, and watched.
I wrote 11 notebooks with more than 600 pages.
I spent another 4 months to find out what it was all about.
The most important thing was that I started to IMPLEMENT those things one by one.
At last – I taught myself the BASICS of how to get a blog created and online.
This is how this blog was “born”.
Today I have several web sites. Two of them are my personal blogs where I write about internet and affiliate marketing. The other ones are niche sites where I use internet marketing techniques to sell some stuff.
Enjoy!
